Angelina Jolie: Brad Pitt Is a "Real Man in All the Things That It Means"

Angelina Jolie: Brad Pitt Is a "Real Man in All the Things That It Means"

In case you had any doubts, Brad Pitt is the most amazing man alive -- or at least he is in Angelina Jolie's eyes.

In a new interview with the U.K.'s Telegraph newspaper, Jolie has nothing but high praise for her well-pectoraled partner of six years. "I am very lucky with Brad," she says. "He is a real gentleman, but he is also a real man's man."

Pitt's not too shabby in the fathering department either. "Brad is such a great dad. When I'm working he's putting in the extra dad time, and that's special for their relationship, too," she says. "When Brad and I decided to have a large family, we decided we'd only do it if we could be really hands-on and take the kids with us, seeing them every day. I am always there on weekends, I only ever work a five-day week, and I am often there for breakfast or dinner. When I'm working they come up at lunch."

In addition to adopted children Maddox, 9, Pax, 7, and Zahara, 6, 47-year-old Pitt, and 35-year-old Jolie also have biological children Shiloh, 4, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 2. Pitt said recently that he knows it seems "extreme" to have such a large brood, but says that it really works for them.

Jolie tells the Telegraph,"(Brad's) got the wonderful balance of being an extraordinary, great, loving father, a very, very intelligent man and physically he's a real man in all things that it means."

Unfortunately -- at least for the more salacious readers who want the gritty details of Pitt's prowess as a love -- Jolie does not elaborate on which "things" she's referring to. But Angie does open up about the image she presents now, as a loving mother and partner -- which is quite different from the tattooed Goth chick she was when she first rose to stardom. "I love being a woman. I love that I can have children," Jolie says. "I love feeling soft, I love being with Brad, I love all the sensitivity and natural emotion."

Pitt is currently starring in the Palme d'Or winning film The Tree of Life, directed by Terrence Malick, while Jolie is in theaters with the animated Kung Fu Panda 2. Jolie also recently made her directorial debut with In the Land of Blood and Honey, and is slated to play Cleopatra in a film helmed by The Social Network and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo director David Fincher.

Any worries of being compared to the great Elizabeth Taylor in her famous 1963 portrayal? Jolie replies: "My performance will never be as lovely as Elizabeth's. We are trying to get into a different truth about her as a pharaoh in history and not as a sex symbol, because she really wasn't. Even this idea of her having many lovers -- it was possible that it was only two. She is very interesting, but she wasn't a great beauty."

Pitt and Jolie recently bought a $35 million chateau in the village of Brignoles on the French Riviera, and are now restoring the 16th-century chapel on the grounds, which has prompted rumors that they will marry there this summer. Pitt and Jolie famously said they would not get married until gay marriage was legalized in the United States. However, the winds may be shifting, as evidenced by a few comments from Pitt to USA Today. Pitt said, "The kids ask about marriage. It's meaning more and more to them. So it's something we've got to look at."

Is Jolie "looking at it" too? All she will say in her Telegraph interview is, "We are obviously extremely committed to the children and as parents together."
